Am Schauspielhaus Zürich wurde 1934 das Theaterstück Professor Mamlock von Friedrich Wolf unter dem Titel Professor Mannheim mit einem Bühnenbild von ihm aufgeführt. Er erstellte Ausstattungen zu maßgeblichen Uraufführungen berühmter Bühnenwerke von Bertolt Brecht Max Frisch und Friedrich Dürrenmatt.
