C'est une contrefaçon tronquée, dont la parution poussa les amis de l'auteur à publier la suivante à l'insu même de Beaumarchais. La première édition avouée par l'auteur a paru en 1797. Binding tight text very clean with some minor foxing/browning missing front marbled enpaper. Vol 10 - same outer condition though with front hinge visibly cracked and parts of spine missing binding tight text clean with minor foxing/browning. Vol 11 - outer condition also worn and rubbed with front cover holding on by stitched binding spine peeling off from front to back but present. Condition of the books is GOOD ; Vol 1 2 and 4 have weak and cracked front hinges vol 3 cover is detached. Edges are worn and chipped spines are dry and crackled with some wear. All have contemporary handwritten notations on the front pastedown in a spidery hand. Calf is nice extremely smooth. Text is good with no foxing and all bindings are internally sound. Drama. RGR. T. Als Dramendichter unbedeutend, liegt sein Verdienst in der Hebund der deutschen Bühne, so hat er sich um die Erstlingsdramen v. Schiller verdient gemacht. Interessant ist auch die Besetzungsliste, Graf Wallori, der Einsiedler v. Carmel wird von Iffland gespielt. In dem, a. d. S I-XIV, abgedruckten Brief d. Autors an F. W. Gotter, klassizistischer Dramatiker u. Lyriker d. Zt., der einen regelmäßigen formglatten Dramenstil nach französischem Vorbild vertrat, erörtert D. die Frage, ob ein Drama besser in Reimen (wie vorliegender "Mönch v.
