1920141148New York: Grosset and Dunlap 1920. First Photoplay Edition. Photo-illustrated with stills from the film.

Based on the 1920 silent film directed by D.W. Griffith and starring Lillian Gish in turn based on the 1898 play by Charlotte Blair Parker. Although the play was filmed twice previously in 1908 and 1914 and once subsequently in a Gary Cooper starring 1935 sound film Griffith's version stands out due the inclusion of a bravura set piece where star Gish flees across an icy river a sequence done without the aid of stunt people or special effects.

Very Good in a Very Good dust jacket. Boards lightly spotted. Jacket spine lightly toned with light chipping to the extremities. Grosset and Dunlap unknown books
