For a number of years he contributed to the Egyptian and Iraqi press. At the age of twenty-one, he and his family immigrated to Israel. At first Mr. Ballas continued to write in Arabic but after a number of years he mastered Hebrew. Today he is know for his stories, articles and books written in Hebrew. Ora Eitan, one of Israels most promising artists, has won several important awards for illustration and design.
