In the original unclipped dust wrapper.'Burbank the Northerner' was originally published in French as 'Nord Contre Sud' in 1887 and has been translated into English as 'Burbank the Northerner' 'Texar's Revenge' and 'North Against South'.This novel is a departure from Jules Verne's ordinary genre of sci-fi the plot revolving around an antislavery northerner living in Florida and his conflict with a pro-slavery southerner. A lesser known work by the noted French author. Illustrated with a frontispiece. Undated dated from publication information regarding Sampson Low's Jules Verne series with decorative cloth the front board colourfully depicting a monkey in the jungle. In the original publisher's cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally smart. Light bumping to the head of the spine. A few very light marks to the rear board. Scattered spots to the endpapers. Minor edge wear to the dust wrapper a little heavier to the head of the spine. Light handling marks to the dust wrapper with some light rubbing to the folds.
