The boards and gilt lettering are well preserved but partially faded. Moderate surface wear to the boards and edges. First several pages are worn and soiled from handling - with numerous tears at the edges. Christmas gift inscription from 1873 on the first blank page. The textblock is otherwise relatively clean and well preserved save for a few instances of scattered staining and foxing.
