Three photographs of street food vendors: from Athens a "seller of a species of cake: halva"; and from Constantinople "an egg seller" and a "seller of a kind of cream named yoghurt". The images show each vendor in traditional garb with the equipment of their trades the egg vendor with a large basket on his back and smaller basket in front; the halve seller with a three-legged table with a mold; and the yogurt seller with an oblong basket and a pair of small white ceramic bowls.
