Very clean inside and out, except for a brief inscription of two names and a date: an Italian art historian gave the catalog to a childrens wear designer in America. Text in Italian. Illustrated in color and black & white. The catalog was prepared to accompagny the exhibition at Rocco di Angera in Milan in 1984. The exhibition examined the clothing of both children and their nannies during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Many photographs of the often white lacy clothing that both children and nannies wore. Die deutsche Übersetzung stammt von G. Diezel und wurde revidiert von Paola Calvino. (Impressum). - Das Dekameron oder Il Decamerone (italienisch; von griechisch déka "zehn" und h?méra "Tag") ist eine Sammlung von 100 Novellen von Giovanni Boccaccio. Die Abfassung erfolgte aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach zwischen 1349 und 1353. Der Titel Decamerone bedeutet - in Anlehnung an das Griechische - "Zehn-Tage-Werk". Es handelt sich um ein stilbildendes Werk der Renaissance, das zum Vorbild fast aller weiteren abendländischen Novellensammlungen wurde. Die Rahmenhandlung verlegt Boccaccio in ein Landhaus in den Hügeln von Florenz (im Vorort Fiesole), drei Kilometer vom damaligen Stadtkern von Florenz entfernt. In dieses Landhaus sind sieben Frauen und drei junge Männer vor der Pest (Schwarzer Tod) geflüchtet, die im Frühjahr und Sommer des Jahres 1348 Florenz heimsuchte. Im Landhaus versuchen sich die Flüchtlinge gegenseitig zu unterhalten. Daher wird jeden Tag eine Königin oder ein König bestimmt, welcher einen Themenkreis vorgibt. Zu diesem Themenkreis hat sich nun jeder der Anwesenden eine Geschichte auszudenken und zum Besten zu geben. Jeder Tag wird mit dem Singen einer Kanzone beendet. Nach zehn Tagen und zehn mal zehn Novellen kehrt die Gruppe wieder nach Florenz zurück. Der zyklische Aufbau des Werkes bezieht sich auf die Bedeutung der alten heiligen Zahl Zehn, die Bonaventura als numerus perfectissimus bezeichnet hatte, wobei vor allem Dantes Göttliche Komödie, die in hundert Gesänge gegliedert ist, als Vorbild diente. Die Schilderung der Pest in Florenz ist beklemmend realistisch und detailreich dargestellt. Endlich erkennt man, daß das Mädchen die Schwester des Giannuol ist, und man gibt sie dem Minghino zum Weibe. / SECHSTE NOVELLE (Pampinea): Gian von Procida wird bei einer Jungfrau angetroffen, die von ihm geliebt wird und welche dem König Friedrich geschenkt worden war. Um mit ihr verbrannt zu werden, wird er an einen Pfahl gebunden. Da erkennt ihn Ruggieri dell'Oria; er wird befreit und heiratet die Jungfrau. / SIEBENTE NOVELLE (Laurella): Theodoro, der in Violante, die Tochter des Herrn Amerigo, seines Herrn, verliebt ist, schwängert sie und wird zum Galgen verurteilt.
