Uniformly bound in quarter crushed morocco with marbled paper covered boards and endpapers.'Pecheur d'Islande' 'An Iceland Fisherman' depicts the life of Breton fishermen who sail each summer to the stormy Iceland cod grounds. 'Mon Frere Yves' 'My Brother Yves' is Loti's semi-autobiographical novel and is regarded as his best-known book. It describes the friendship between him and a hard drinking Breton sailor named Yves Kermadec during the 1870s and 80s. Uniformly bound in quarter crushed morocco with marbled paper covered boards and endpapers. Externally very smart with slight darkening to the spines and mild rubbing to the extremities. The boards are quite shelf rubbed edge worn and stained with the corners knocked. Despite this the boards remain strong and sturdy. Internally there is damp staining to the end papers along with mild foxing and tanning throughout. There are no other markings or inscriptions and the pages within are neat and complete.
