Einband berieben Kanten beschabt Fehlstelle am oberen Rücken fachmännisch ergänzt ExLibris-Prägestempel auf Vortitel vorne und hinten etwas braunfleckig im Ganzen passabel erhalten. Der nicht signierte Ledereinband wurde vom Buchbinder repariert und neu aufgebunden. Die Intarsien zeigen auf dem Vorderdeckel zwei rote Störche vor einer Landschaft hinten den Blick durch Bäume auf eine Ebene. - Der Vortitel mit dem Prägestempel "Ex Libris Hanns Zischler". "Longos in lateinischer Form: Longus war ein griechischer Schriftsteller der Antike. Er ist der Autor des berühmten Hirten- und Liebesromans 'Daphnis und Chloe' und der Zweiten Sophistik zuzuordnen. . Longos vermischt in seinem Roman Elemente des antiken Liebes- und Abenteuerromans mit Motiven der Bukolik und entwickelt dabei eine eigene Art der Poesie in Prosa. Dabei legt der Autor seinem Erzähler einen Stil in den Mund der in seiner Schlichtheit den Protagonisten den einfachen Hirten entspricht.
