The postcard bears greeting for Seymour Halpern aged 16 and the quote reads "a maiden speech is always an ordeal but a maiden speech in a foreign language is a terrifying affair!" Simone de Caillavet Maurois was the wife of André Maurois and daughter of the French writer and playwright Gaston Armam de Caillavet and granddaughter of Mme.
