Origiinal fulll brown flexibile suede handsewn and painted with bold design of a red fez and white horsehair tassle cover hand-lettered in black. T.B.B. Herd is short for 'The Big Bull Herd' which was a side degree of the Loyal Order of Moose still one of America's largest fraternal societies. The Big Bull Herd was established in 1911 and this appears to be one of the original founding documents by the originator comprising the rules regulations and ritual. This copy was created for the #2 in the order 'Little Bull' and consiststs of 135 typed pages mainly carbon jam-packed with elaborate ritual rules etc. The text is longer and differes substantially from the 'Old Pap Bulll' volume we have seen shorter at 98 pages. It opens: 'This order was founded orgainzed and promulgated by Fenelon F. Chevis of Los Angeles California and had its first introduction to the Fraternal World on WEdnesday night April 19th 1911 where it was received with applause and unanimous acclimation by all who were initiated into the mysteries of its ritualistic ceremonial. The ritual and all the secret work was written completely by him and finished on May 20th 1911.'. The Author unknown

A scarce printing of Fénelon’s popular novel which Worldcat records in just 2 locations both in Switzerland in a worn but still attractive contemporary binding. This copy belonged to a P. The title page continues "by the author of Telemachus to which is added a small tract of instructions for the conduct of Young Ladies of the Highest Rank with suitable devotions annexed done into English and revised by Dr. George Hickes." Stated Fourth Edition corrected; with additions. A sumptuously rebound exemplar of a stated Fourth Edition brown modern full-calf leather blind-stamped ruling to front and rear covers gilt title to spine all edges gilt too with gilt ruling to spine and with "1721" stamped quite sharply at spine foot. Bright clean interior only lightly waffled text-block but paper quite fine to the touch. New endpapers front and rear new sewn-in head-bands. Some fine black-and-white headers and at least one fine initial. Short 16mo in format measuring 6 3/4" x 4 1/8" tall and wide respectively. First published in French in 1688 and the first translation done into English by Hickes was in 1707 thus an early printing.
