Lindesay also to title-pages beneath earlier struck-through signature ownership inscriptions of George Paterson dated 1841 to half-titles. A scarce printing of Fénelon’s popular novel which Worldcat records in just 2 locations both in Switzerland in a worn but still attractive contemporary binding. This copy belonged to a P. Lindesay of Musselburgh most likely Sir Patrick Lindesay 1778-1839 soldier and colonial administrator the namesake of 2 mountains and one river in Australia. Chez les Freres Estienne hardcover
