Quarto stiff boards with printed paper label bound with a metal clasp photomechanically reproduced script generated by the production company. <br /><br />This was the twelfth film adaptation of Stephen King. IMDb lists more than 250 and so this was still early in the development of King's filmography -- a story about a little girl Drew Barrymore who made an enormous impression and whose film career really took off after this vehicle made when she was still six years-old who develops pyrokinetic powers. <br /><br />The printing job was done a bit carelessly and so a few pages have cropped page numbers overall NEAR FINE. Mann 1796-1859; member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Massachusetts 1848-1853 known as the father of American public education won John Quincy Adams's seat in Congress after he died and served for five years as an anti-slavery advocate; this speech reaffirms his opposition and excoriates the political efforts at the time to silence those in both houses of Congress who supported his views especially those concerning the extension of slavery into the western territories. The "Commonwealth" was a Boston newspaper published 1851-1853 see AAS online catalogue. LCP/HSP Afro-Americana 6316 and 6321 for pamphlet printings only. No printing in Work or Blockson catalogue. Dust-soiling to top-edge but internally clean and fresh. The sizing to cloth cover has been removed in places due to moisture and small bits of the dust jacket have adhered to the cloth; the dust jacket is dampstained in corresponding places with some red offset to the upper panel. Also it is spine sunned with small loss at spinal ends and at the fold-in corners. It would be only an acceptable reading copy if it were not for Mann's inscription. This is the text of a lecture in slightly abbreviated form delivered by Mann on a coast-to-coast lecture tour February to May 1938. unknown books

Revised Final script for the 1968 film dated October 5 1967. <br/><br/>Based on the 1966 novel by Roderick Thorp about a brooding detective embroiled in a case that uncovers deep police corruption within the department. Frank Sinatra's fourth collaboration with director Gordon Douglas and a box office success. One of the first mainstream Hollywood films to include explicit references and depictions of the lives of gay men including the homophobia and indifference to violence against them they faced from police departments. <br/><br/>In 1979 Thorp wrote a sequel to The Detective entitled Nothing Lasts Forever which was adapted in 1988 as Die Hard. Due to his having starred in the earlier film Sinatra had contractual rights to star in the sequel. He wisely turned it down due to his age and action movie history and Bruce Willis' career were made. <br/><br/>Set in New York and shot on location there and in California. <br/><br/>Red titled wrappers noted as REVISED FINAL on the front wrapper marked copy No. 116 dated October 5 1967. Title page present dated October 5 1967 noted as REVISED FINAL with credits for screenwriter Mann and novelist Thorp. 177 leaves mechanical duplication on eye-rest green stock with blue revision pages throughout dated variously between 9/7/67 and 12/4/67. This volume contains the article "Symmetries of Baryons and Mesons" by Murray Gell-Mann found on pages 1067-1084. Gell-Mann was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physics in 1969 "for his contributions and discoveries concerning the classification of elementary particles and their interactions". This paper demonstrates the "introduction of SU3 single-octet structure of the known mesons and octet-decuplet structure for the baryons. and predicts the Omega- Hyperon" There is one earlier introduction of these concepts in a private institutional paper CTSL-20 which while quite rare was printed separately and later reprinted in "The Eightfold Way: A Review" much later 1964. An incredible accomplishment and a standard point of reference for big part of the 20th century the book encompassed the portraitsfacsimile letters signatures and artwork of 137 of Russia's most accomplished authors and poets of all times - from Lomonosov through Pushkin and Gogol to Tolstoy Block and Akhmatova. The portraits some of them from engravings others from paintings and still others from photographs were originally created by renowned artists such as Mir Isskustva members Iurii Annenkov and Konstantin Somov and graphic artist Sergei Chekhonin. The author Alexander Eliasberg 1878-1924 was a Jewish-Russian historian translator and author who had immigrated to Munich in 1905. Among his works the present one was arguably his masterpiece also evidenced by novelist and Nobel Laureate Thomas Mann's enthusiastic praises in the latter's preface to the book. One of the few low-budget western films to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Screenplay. <br/><br/>Bill Avery worked as a photographer at Columbia Pictures in the early 20th century with a brief interlude working as a combat cameraman during World War II. He also worked at MGM under noted photographer C.S. Bill and occasionally worked as a freelance publicity photographer shooting iconic images of Elvis Presley Jack Lemmon Katharine and Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine among many others.<br/><br/>Shot on location in Riverside and San Fernando Valley California.<br/><br/>13.5 x 10.5 inches.
