This novella follows an ennobled writer who visits Venice finding the experience liberating and uplifting then increasingly becomes obsessed by the sight of a boy in a family of Polish touristsTadzio.From German author and 1929 Nobel Prize for Literature laureate Thomas Mann one of the best-known exponents of the so-called Exilliteratur German literature written in exile by those who opposed the Hitler regime. Tadzio was likely based on a boy named WÅadzio whom Mann had observed during his 1911 visit to the city during the cholera epidemic. In the publisher's cloth binding. Several leaves untrimmed. Externally with fading to the spine and boards although only minor bumping to the spine. The odd mark to the boards. Internally firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd spot.
