With highlighting on a single page. <br/><br/>A groundbreaking television show developed by filmmaker Michael Mann one of the first to embrace a specifically 1980s aesthetic in music fashion and lifestyle and one of the first to explore the cynicism moral ambiguity and futility of the War on Drugs. In this episode detectives Switek and Zito are on the trail of stolen goods but their partnership is complicated when a fire forces Zito to move in with Switek and his girlfriend who happens to by Zito's ex. <br/><br/>The 1984-1985 season would receive 15 Emmy nominations winning four including Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for Edward James Olmos. In all the show received a total of 20 nominations over the course of its six year run. <br/><br/>White titled self wrappers noted as production No. 59527 dated January 19 1985 with credits for screenwriter Alan Weisbecker and producers Michael Mann John Nicolella Liam O'Brien and Richard Brams. Here under the working title "Hannah Senesh." <br/><br/>Based on two books: "Hanna Senesh Her Life and Diaries" Sphere Books 1973 and "Un Vento Impetuoso Soffio" a memoir by Joel Palgi published only in Italian in 1950 then in English in 2003 under the title "Into the Inferno: The Memoir of a Jewish Paratrooper Behind Nazi Lines." <br/><br/>The true story of Hanna Szenes Senesh a Hungarian-Jewish World War II resistance fighter who would become Israel's "Joan of Arc." As a young person she fled Nazi-occupied Hungary for Palestine where she was recruited and trained by the British to serve as a commando. After completing her training in Britain she parachuted into Yugoslavia with a commando team to establish escape routes across the Hungarian-Yugoslavian border for downed British pilots. Her attempts to save Hungarian Jews in Nazi-occupied Hungary however lead to her capture torture and demise at the hands of the Gestapo and the Nazi-controlled Hungarian police. <br/><br/>Set in Europe and British Palestine filmed on location in Hungary and Israel. <br/><br/>Lacking wrappers. This was actress Mercedes McCambridge’s personal copy with the following acting notes about how to play her character Mrs. Sarah Wyatt written in pencil by Miss McCambridge on the summary page: “Brown Bird! Play her like Ella talks - to us to the boys - to the cats! When she is soft - when she is mad. Remember her ‘Whoo!’ and the weary ‘Well.’ And the way her head moves out of sync with the cadence of her speech. Back and forth like Keely - like a bird.†McCambridge has made various line edits in pencil at her speaking parts in the script. This copy is custom bound in full dark green gilt stamped leather with raised bands on the spine marble endpapers and with her name gilt-stamped to the lower right corner of the front board. With “COMPLETE†stamped to the bottom of the front cover and with “McCambridge†and her character’s name “Sarah Wyatt†written in pencil at the top of the front cover. Fine. The film tells the story of the Oklahoma land run of 1889 was directed by the great Anthony Mann written by Arnold Schulman based on the novel by Edna Ferber and stars Glenn Ford Maria Schell Anne Baxter Arthur O’Connell Russ Tamblyn Mercedes McCambridge Vic Morrow Robert Keith Charles McGraw and Harry Morgan. The film received two Oscar nominations for Best Art Direction - Set Direction and Best Sound. Some of Miss McCambridge’s other films include All the King’s Men 1949 and Giant 1956 for which she won Best Supporting Actress Oscars Johnny Guitar 1954 and the voice of the Demon in The Exorcist 1973. She also won two Golden Globes for All the King’s Men: Best Supporting Actress and Most Promising Newcomer - Female.
