Nel capitolo II ho illustrato il linguaggio Pascal, da me insegnato (secondo la versione Tubo-Pascal 3) per molti anni nel corso sperimentale del liceo scientifico, con diverse applicazioni alla matematica e, talvolta, anche alla fisica. Nel capitolo III ho presentato lo studio sul compilatore Dev-Pascal. Troisième édition de la célèbre lettre d’Antoine Arnauld adressée au duc de Luynes le 24 février 1655, au sujet du refus de sacrement fait au duc de Liancourt à Saint-Sulpice au prétexte de ses liens avec Port-Royal. Arnauld accuse les défenseurs de la bulle, d’intolérance et de "tyrannie", défend la doctrine augustinienne dans ses principes, dénie toute compétence aux membres du clergé de se placer en arbitre de l’orthodoxie catholique et proteste plus largement contre l’attitude qui consiste à traiter les jansénistes en hérétiques et à les excommunier. Ce pamphlet est fréquemment associé aux Provinciales de Pascal. (Colonia, T.I, n°97, p. 314). Bel exemplaire, très frais, parfaitement conservé.
