Binding in near fine condition overall with light rubbing and a small discreet restoration to one corner; lower corner of Nouvelles histoires extraordinaires slightly scuffed as shown hinges fine under a protective removable mylar cover. Content: Very good near fine with occasional scattered foxing mostly confined to the margins of some illustrations as shown. Pages are otherwise clean well-preserved and highly presentable. Complete. Illustrations: First illustrated edition featuring thirteen engraved plates per volume complete. The engravings vividly interpret Poe's dark imagination and are complemented by the dramatic visual narrative of the mosaic spine decorations.
