Edition originale de ce recueil de textes publié par le médecin et historien littéraire Henri MONDOR (1885-1962) en hommage au philosophe Alain (pseudonyme d'Emile Chartier, 1868-1951), réunissant souvenirs de l'auteur et textes du philosophe: fragments de dédicaces, "Lettres sur le sujet du coeur et de l'esprit", "Le Déjeuner chez La Pérouse", et les propos qu'il échangea avec Paul Valéry lors de ce déjeuner (juin 1928).
