Quite a bit of old restoration work including edges of many leaves guarded some wormholes repaired all very neatly and professionally done with no losses to text <br/><br/>Francisco Toledo 1532-1596 was born at Cordova Spain and studied philosophy and theology at Valencia under Domingo Soto and by the age of 23 he was teaching philosophy at Salamanca. He became a Jesuit in 1558 and in 1593 was the first Jesuit to be made a cardinal by Clement VIII. He was considered one of the most learned men of his time. A prolific author of popular philosophical theological and exegetical works this "Commentaria" originally published in Rome in 1572 was published in 17 editions. Text includes Ludovico Carbone's commentaries with separate title page same imprint as main text and pagination. The present edition is scarce only 1 copy on OCLC. Apud Sessas hardcover
