(wiki) // Durch die Bekker'sche Ausgabe des Aristoteles ist für die Texteskritik der aristotelischen Schriften ein so bedeutender Schritt geschehen, als es der Umfang der dazu aufgebotenen Mittel und der Name des Herausgebers erwarten liess; dafür kann jede Seite des Bekker'schen Textes, verglichen mit den früheren Ausgaben, Zeug-niss geben. Dennoch kann für die Aufgabe der Kritik, den aristotelischen Text seiner ursprünglichen Gestalt möglichst anzunähern, Bekker's Recension und kritischer Apparat nur als Grundlage, nicht als ein wenigstens zeitweiser Abschluss betrachtet werden.
