164129349<p>Desiderius Erasmus wrote Enchiridion militis Christiani as a guide for Christian discipline urging a life shaped by integrity rather than outward observance. First circulated in 1503 the work became a classic of Renaissance humanist thought read across Europe for generations. This 1641 edition was issued in Leiden by Ioannis Maire and reflects the sustained appeal of Erasmus's teachings more than a century after their first printing. The book is presented in sextodecimo format measuring 5 by 3 inches with 330 pages. Condition: Very Good. The binding with leather spine and marbled boards remains secure with some hinge wear gilt lettering visible on the spine and internally the pages are clean.
