Collection of sermons by Weichenhan d. 1594 who was a Silesian preacher and member of the Schwenckfelders a small Anabaptist sect from southeastern Germany and Silesia. A large group of Schwenckfelders immigrated to Pennsylvania in the 1730s; they published many Schwenckfelder writings throughout the 18th century. Only a single volume is currently available on-line. Bound quite handsomely in contemporary full vellum binding with gilt design and gilt lettering on the spine stamped into a burgundy leather label. Half-inch split to front joint at bottom else remarkably stiff and sturdy. Colonia is the stated place of publication but other sources say Venice. 206 pp. First Edition in Italian of the most famous work of Erasmus of Rotterdam. This work was translated probably by Raffale Pastore known as a translator of various Greek and Latin classics. The book feels marvelous in the hand. No publisher listed.Member I.O.B.A. C.B.A. and adherent to the highest ethical standards. Additional postage may be required for oversize or especially heavy volumes and for sets. hardcover
