Aspects of the story were used in the 1941 Hitchcock film 'Suspicion'. Pages have slight foxing tanning and minor thumbing. Gutters somewhat cracked with some exposed netting. Binding is quite firm. Foxing and tanning more noticeable towards start and end of book and on text block edges. Prices in pencil to front endpaper. Occasional mild marks to pages. Slightly blotchy endpapers. Text block edges a little tanned and foxed with minor scratches. Boards have some edge wear mild bumping and fraying to corners while spine ends are moderately crushed. Slightly scratched rubbed and dust-marked overall. A few liquid droplet marks and faint stains. Spine is noticeably sunned. Book has a pronounced forward lean. Subtle bowing to boards. The course descriptions are by various illustrators none of whom appear to be credited. The Free University allowed students to register for "any number of courses" for a one-time registration fee of $10. Instructors worked on a volunteer basis; among the subjects offered were self-defense dance beekeeping body massage yogurt and "theory of orgasm" though not included in the catalog we imagine the practicum must have been interesting. The FUB ran from 1966 to 1972. Free University of Berkeley unknown

With a printed snipe on the verso along with the stamp of Culver Pictures photo bureau a date stamp of "Dec 1939" and manuscript annotations regarding layout. <br /> <br /> Rooney and Garland sing "God's Country" from the finale of the musical in a scene spoofing Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt and the FDR's fireside chats. This scene was cut from the film after Roosevelt's death and believed lost until it was rediscovered and restored in 1990s. Rooney received a Best Actor nomination for his role in the film. <br /> <br /> 10 x 8 inches. Very Good.
