Curatore di gran parte delle edizioni italiane degli scritti di Simone Weil a cominciare dall’edizione integrale dei "Quaderni", Giancarlo Gaeta ha accompagnato il lavoro di traduzione con commenti puntuali che tendono a mostrare di volta in volta movimento e tensione interna di una riflessione filosofica, politica, religiosa che ha proceduto in discontinuità con tutto ciò che nel corso della modernità ha contribuito a una crisi epocale irreversibile. Riflessione che si è perciò spinta oltre i limiti dell’acquisito e del realistico, fin là dove avrebbero potuto aprirsi altri universi di senso, altre possibilità di coniugazioni culturali. Il presente studio interroga il discorso filosofico posizionandosi sul suo limite, ascoltando tutto ciò che, dall'esterno, ferisce la sua chiusura. Nel corso di queste pagine la filosofia sarà interpellata da diverse figure marginali: le rovine, l'esiliato, la vittima, il sogno e l'incubo di un umano in cerca di se stesso. Che cosa dicono alla filosofia i loro sguardi, come parlano le loro ombre alla luce della coscienza storica e filosofica? Il tentativo di rispondere implica, da una parte, un'analisi approfondita della mistica, intesa, sulla scorta di Weil e Zambrano, non come fuga dal mondo, ma come trascendenza che si insinua nel suo presente, come fermento di futuro, sempre di nuovo tradito. Dall'altra impone un rinnovamento dello stesso metodo filosofico, il quale, sollecitato dall'esperienza mistica, è chiamato a dispiegare infine una logica capace di ospitare l'Incipit che l'origina, che l'attende nel futuro, e che intanto soggiorna, dimenticato, nelle viscere della storia e delle sue vittime.

Kirsten Elizabeth Gillibrand née Rutnik; born December 9 1966 is an American lawyer and politician serving as the junior United States senator from New York since 2009. A member of the Democratic Party she served as member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 2007 to 2009. Born and raised in upstate New York Gillibrand graduated from Dartmouth College and from the UCLA School of Law. After holding positions in government and private practice and working on Hillary Clinton's 2000 U.S. Senate campaign Gillibrand was elected to the United States House of Representatives in 2006. Questo lavoro di ricerca si porta all’interno dell’opera di Simone Weil con l’intenzione di rispettarne, e soprattutto di esaltarne, il legame fra mistica ed esistenza, scavando fra i caratteri peculiari di quest’autrice. Tutta l’opera di Simone Weil è infatti engagée, volta a riunire, sin dalla sua stessa continuità di vita e pensiero, teoria e prassi nell’originaria sensibilità del logos. Simone Weil tende a ricomporre mistica e filosofia, proprio come per la teoria e la prassi, nella stessa percezione del mistero che fa capo alla sensibilità del logos, lungo quella linea che la condurrà a supporre un unico fondamento per il bisogno di credere e il desiderio di sapere. Abitando la contraddizione, Simone Weil giunge a tirar fuori un’opera di indiscussa originalità che risuona ancora troppo debolmente negli ambienti accademici. D’altronde, è lei stessa, ciò che vive, ciò che scrive, a voler disappartenere. Disappartiene un po’ a tutto. Eppure, appartiene a questo nostro tempo.
