Front board stained and detached. Hardbound. Very good. Amantine Lucile Aurore Dupin 1804-1876 was best known by her pseudonym George Sand. She was a French novelist and memoirist but is equally well known for her much publicized romantic affairs with a number of artists including the composer and pianist Frederic Chopin and the writer Alfred de Musset. Consuelo was first published serially in 1842-1843 in La Revue Independante a periodical founded in 1841 by Sand Pierre Leroux and Louis Viardot. It was called Sand's masterpiece. PAIMP 22.
