Although it would fit this does not seem to be by the lawyer William Atwood 1650-1712 it is not mentioned in his Wikipedia entry and various library entries give 'd. 1705'. The spine is rubbed much color is lost -- and the main text is printed on paper which shows considerable browning throughout. The 8-page appendix at the end is not affected by this browning . A scarce book about the laws concerning dykes and their consequences. There is a small slip of paper with a single word pasted over another word on the bottom line of the recto of K1. . In a full calf binding. Externally sound. Cracks to the joints and a joint to the spine. Some loss to the head and tail of the spine. A little bumping to the extremities. Lacking the spine label. Some marks and discolouration to the boards and spine. A small amount of loss to the rear board. Hinges are strained. Internally generally firmly bound with the binding broken in one place. Pages are age-toned with some spots and marks. Small closed tear to the margin of the third leaf of the work no loss. The son of Frederick V the "Winter King" of Bohemia and Elizabeth Stuart sister of Charles I Charles Louis spent much of his early life in exile due to the Thirty Years' War and the English Civil War. His political career was eventful but he is best known for his controversial personal life including his divorce from Charlotte of Hesse-Kassel and his bigamous marriage to Marie Luise von Degenfeld. His daughter Elizabeth Charlotte married Philippe I Duke of Orléans the younger brother of Louis XIV.
