Volume two also features nine double-sided colour plates of the original text and two large colour folding maps stored in a pocket to the front of the work. Collated complete.This set also features a promotional folding leaflet with colour illustrations advertising these works and a letter spanning two pages addressed to Mrs E. I. Griffith Davies which states that 'due to the complexities of the reproduction process this first ever exact replica of the Domesday Folios is limited to just 1000 numbered copies for each county.'The letter is signed by Henrietta Pearson the publisher. Bound in original half cloth. In original slipcase. Externally very smart. Very slight graze to vol1 boards. Mild handling marks to vol1 spine. A very scarce religious novel published anonymously likely by a Church of Ireland clergyman. First and only edition. Four institutional copies according to Jisc. No previous records found in auction. Bound in contemporary quarter calf with woven-style cloth boards. Retaining original endpapers and blanks. One leaf of publisher's advertisements to the rear. Catholic Irishman Edmund O"Hara goes to Spain to be educated for the priesthood. There he meets a Protestant Hamilton who teaches him about the Protestant faith. On their return voyage home their ship is wrecked off the Irish coast and when they get to shore they are helped by Protestants to get to the north of Ireland whereas a priest refuses them his aid. Bound in contemporary quarter calf with woven-style cloth boards. Externally with rubbing to the spine and slight loss to the morocco label. A few marks to the boards. Internally firmly bound.
