Eröffnet wird der Almanach mit einem Aufsatz von Walter Schmähung über "die zahlreichen Einflüsse auf Ball und die vielen Gemeinsamkeiten mit anderen expressionistischen Dichtern". Gerhard Schaub belegt in einer umfangreichen Analyse, in deren Mittelpunkt ein unbekanntes "literarisches Manifest" von Ball und Huelsenbeck steht, daß es bereits 1915 in Berlin prädadaistische Aktivitäten gegeben hat. Die Gemeinsamkeiten und Unterschiede bei den Schriftstellern Leonhard Frank und Hugo Ball sind Thema einer Betrachtung von Hans Joachim Bähr. Einen Beitrag zu Balls Sprachtheorie hat Dietmar Kammler erarbeitet. Als Erkenntnisgegenstand kultursemiotischer Texttheorie wird Balls Lautdichtung von Thomas Kempf und Manfred Kratz in ihrer Untersuchung behandelt. This catalogue was prepared to accompany the exhibition of modern American art at the 1939 New York World's Fair. Organized by the Gallery of American Art Today and many other arts groups around the country. A wide range of styles were included from realism through abstract art. Works were lent to the exhibition by the Federal Art Project of the Works Progress Administration, among several other institutions. Alphabetical indices of painters, sculptors and graphic artists. Di questa importante e celebrata rivista di fumetti, offriamo una "raccolta completa" delle prime 10 annate: dal n. 1 ottobre 1983 al n. 7 luglio 1993. "Corto Maltese" è il fumetto italiano più noto all'estero e più apprezzato dal mondo della cultura. Ancora oggi, dopo la morte di Pratt nel 1995, le storie di Corto Maltese sono ristampate ovunque con immutato successo. Il racconto di esordio della serie, “La ballata del mare salato” (1965) è ritenuta un classico del genere, un graphic novel ante-litteram che ha fatto scuola. Il personaggio propone un prototipo di un eroe del tutto innovativo e lontano dai canoni dell'eroe classico e l'opera a fumetti della quale è protagonista si caratterizza per i temi adulti e per lo stile, per il contesto storico preciso e documentato e per le notazioni geografiche puntuali e coerenti, con riferimenti dotti e culturali disseminati nell'opera senza appesantire la narrazione e per la profondità della caratterizzazione di tutti i personaggi. Apprezzato dalla critica e dal pubblico colto sin dagli anni settanta, nel corso degli anni il suo successo popolare è andato costantemente crescendo fino a fargli raggiungere lo status di personaggio cult; dalle sue avventure sono stati tratti negli anni 2000 un film di animazione e una serie animata, oltre a varie trasposizioni teatrali e innumerevoli citazioni in altri fumetti, canzoni, libri. Sono state inoltre organizzate diverse mostre di successo sul personaggio e sul suo autore e gli è stata dedicata una statua a Grandvaux, sul lago di Ginevra dove Hugo Pratt passò un periodo della sua vita.
