031716New York; 1950: New Directions. First Edition. Octavo. These two volumes are the translations by Louise Verese from the unfinished French noval: "Lucien Leuwen". There are fine passages in the Stendhal manner upon the nature of love and the Verese translation captures the feeling of the original French manuscript.
