Originally published in 1896. A collection of poetry with titles including "Hymn Before Action" "In the Neolithic Age" "The Lost Legion" "The Mary Gloster" and "McAndrew's Hymn". The Five Nations 1903. First edition. With the issue point of 'David' to page 56 line 9 that was later changed to 'Saul' but lacking the publisher's advertisements dated 'July 1903'. This work is split into two sections: the first covering a wide range of subjects and the second section entitled "Service Songs" containing poems about British soldiers at the turn of the twentieth century. Bound in half red calf with patterned boards. Externally smart with light shelf wear and rubbing to the extremities. Fading to the spine and the odd small mark to the board. Internally firmly bound.
