Unclipped dust jacket is maroon with cream lettering 620 pp. Believed by some to be Huxley's greatest novel this novel jumps around chronologically between the 1890's and 1936 and describes the ennui of the upper class British intelligentsia in the person of Anthony Beavis which is overcome after a long journey by a turning towards pacifism and mysticism. The book shows some light wear with a tear on the front dust jacket and a few chips missing near the top spine rated very good overall. <br /> A very nice first edition of Huxley's best novel. Chatto & Windus unknown

The first exhibition of children's drawings of the Spanish Civil War was held in 1937 in Valencia; it was organized by the Ministry of Education and included over 3000 drawings. Subsequently 118 of those drawings were selected for showing in England and the United States to raise funds for children's relief efforts in Spain. Of these the sixty best were selected for publication in the exhibition catalog for which Aldous Huxley agreed to write the introduction; the catalog went through three printings in 1938-1939 ref.
