19287512
"Point Counter Point" by ALDOUS HUXLEY. 1928 1st American edition stated 1st printing; Doubleday Doran & Company; Garden City New York. From a review: "Huxley's lifelong concern with the dichotomy between passion and reason finds its fullest expression both thematically and formally in his masterpiece 'Point Counter Point.' By presenting a vision of life in which diverse aspects of experience are observed simultaneously Huxley characterizes the symptoms of 'the disease of modern man' in the manner of a composer - themes and characters are repeated altered slightly and played off one another in a tone that is at once critical and sympathetic."

Condition:
Light soiling to the covers and spine; small stain at the top-left corner of the front cover. The spine label has a vertical crease at the center and some staining/foxing. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. The pages are mostly clean with the exception of light foxing from the front end paper up to page 13 though the title page and the bibliography page facing it have heavier foxing and some light foxing to the last few pages including the rear end paper and pastedown. Name/date 1928 written in pen on the front end paper. Overall the book is in Good condition.
Doubleday, Doran & Company hardcover
