Spine is cocked pageblock tanned tanning leading into endpapers. Pageblock head dyed a contrasting shade to boards otherwise tanned and lightly foxed. The top pages edges are stained brown with the original dust jacket signed 'Bird' 376 pp. Stylistically balancing between non-fiction and fiction this is Huxley's account of a historical event of demonic possession in 1634 of the Ursuline nuns by Urbain Grandier who was then prosecuted by Cardinal Richelieu. The book is in great shape binding and all except for a slight discoloration on the first two front free end papers. The dust jacket as well is in surprisingly good condition with some small areas of darkening at the top and edgewear. A wonderfully maintained book wrapped in mylar rated very good to near fine. <br /> A very nice first edition of Huxley's best novel. Chatto & Windus unknown
