Marie Duxrud 1881-1954 was a soprano from Norway; she married Josef Stransky 1872-1936 who conducted the New York Philharmonic from 1911 to 1923. He later became an art dealer and was a partner in E. Gimpel & Wildenstein in New York City. The author Jules Nicolas Théodore Cahu 1854-1928 was a French writer an officer in the French cavalry and the chief of staff of General Boulanger; he wrote biographical journalism and science fiction sometimes under the pen name of Théo-Critt.
