Pages are clean but show the usual age-toning resulting from war-time paper. The colorful Dust Jacket protected by a removable mylar sleeve is complete and unusually bright. Two tiny closed tears. No chips. Bound in the original dark red boards with black lettering on the front cover and spine. Sharp corners. The handsome full-color wraparound dust jacket art is by J. Allen St. John and is the same as was issued with the 1924 McClurg first edition. This edition has the new Madison Square series title-page with a Tarzan/lion illustration by J. Allen St. John. Price clipped jacket has seen more wear than the book with short tears at the spine ends and folds and scuffing at the spine panel that obscures most of the author's name. 256 pp. black and white illustrations by Gobbato.
