Some page discolouration throughout. Some verses have been ticked in pencil. One of the limited editions which were published the same year as the original publication by Wilde or C.3.3. One section pages 17-20 loose. The four letters are addressed to Robbie Ross to whom Wilde entrusted the manuscript of De Profundis itself of course a letter to Ross' rival Lord Alfred "Bosie" Douglas. Very good plus with one corner bumped book plate on front pastedown and a touch of creasing to top corner of first 50 pages otherwise clean and bright inside and out. In a very good dust jacket price intact with wear at the spine ends and corners a bit of fading to spine and some soiling to rear panel. Wilde was a Welsh professional boxer who competed from 1911 to 1923. Often regarded as the greatest British fighter of all time he was the first official world flyweight champion and was rated by American boxing writer Nat Fleischer as well as many other professionals as "the Greatest Flyweight Boxer Ever." Wilde earned various nicknames such as "The Mighty Atom" "Ghost with the Hammer in His Hand" and "The Tylorstown Terror" due to his bludgeoning punching power and he would often take on boxers in higher weight divisions and knock them out.
