2008ABE-1778099756031London: Penguin Classic 2008 A one off; this was a limited edition sealed inside a box. 1000 un-numbered copies were printed. BUT - this copy was inside a damaged box. The thing is it really doesn't need the box. It is bound in leather sourced from fallen animals and there are small imperfections on the leather which adds to the mature look. Bill Amberg was clear about this; he did not seek perfect leather but welcomes the odd marks and abrasions. And he chose Yapp binding for all the books in the series. What is Yapp binding Well that's a non reinforced leather binding designed to soften over the years. They used to issue Bibles that way. The leather starts out stiff-ish but as it ages it does so gracefully; it enfolds the book edges. This book also has a leather bookmark attached to it. So what you have here is the limited edition book but without the fancy box. If that appeals to you go for it. 4.2x16.4x23.6 CENTIMETERS. 1st Edition. Special Edition. Hardcover. Fine.
