The spines all have title pieces and gilt decorations. The volume number pieces from volumes 2 & 5 have come away and volume 1 is missing a piece of the spine strip near the head. Board edges and corners are all lightly worn and the gilt has partially rubbed away from the spines. There are a few markings to front and rear boards. Endpapers and prelims all have tanned page edges and each volume has the signature of the former owner to the second end page. The text remains clean and unmarked and the bindings are sound.
