Edition originale de la traduction, par Emma PIECZYNSKA (1854-1927), de ces "souvenirs" écrits "dans sa cinquantième année" par le grand écrivain indien Rabindranath TAGORE (1861-1941), prix Nobel de littérature 1913: une "traduction libre" qui put "être soumise en partie" à l'écrivain "et obtenir son approbation", avec préface de la traductrice: "Ces tableaux rétrospectifs [...] contiennent [...] l'histoire suivie de [la] vie intérieure [de l'écrivain] et celle des diverses productions littéraires en lesquelles sa personnalité trouva successivement expression jusqu'à l'âge où son âme et sa poésie atteignirent à la maturité".
