Edizione fuori commercio tirata in 500 esemplari, realizzata grazie al materiale raccolto dal Museo Caproni, con un'interessante introduzione sugli ''Spedienti e strumenti aeronautici nella storia del volo'' di Giuseppe Boffito. Splendida monografia dedicata a Francesco Zambeccari, che fu pioniere dell'aviazione italiana, ebbe in gioventù una vita assai avventurosa, dopo la quale si dedicò agli aerostati. Nel 1803 ideò un aerostato di forma sferica e vi effettuò diverse ascensioni con l'aviatore Pasquale Andreoli, in Italia ed in Inghilterra. L'apparato iconografico dell'opera è notevole e comprende XXIV tavole f.t e numerose illustrazioni: riproduzioni di stampe d'epoca, documenti, progetti, ritratti, manoscritti ecc., anche in sanguigna e a colori, protette da veline con didascalia. Interessantissima anche la vasta bibliografia in fine. Esemplare perfetto, assai marginoso, a fogli chiusi.. .

Personal copy of noted sculptor Lily Tolpo 1917-2015 who created several Lincoln statues including the life-size Lincoln and Douglas debate monument unveiled in Freeport in 1992 on the 134th anniversary of that event and whose husband Carl Tolpo 1901-76 was a famed Lincoln sculptor. Tipped to the front flyleaf are two 5" X 3" heavy stock cards with Tolpo's inked notes about creating a limited edition of this statue funding ideas marketing notions including Dave Thomas of "Wendy's" fame etc. MONAGHAN 3229. A tight pristine facsimile of the 1930 first edition of this history of the creation of sculptor Leonard Crunelle's moving statue of Lincoln erected in Freeport in 1929 on the 71st anniversary of the Lincoln-Douglas debate held there -- and here reprinted for the 130th anniversary of that same event. From the personal collection of another noted sculptor with a Freeport presence Lily Tolpo 1917-2015 whose life-size statues depicting Lincoln and Douglas debating was unveiled on the site of that event in 1992 on the 134th anniversary. Laid into this copy is a 5" X 3" index card with Lincoln notes pencilled by Tolpo's husband noted Lincoln sculptor Carl Tolpo 1901-76 a fine 5" X 7" black and white photograph of Crunelle's Lincoln statue a program and large white silk bookmark for the 142nd anniversary rededication ceremonies held in 2000 and an unused sheet of special stationery made for the 1858-2008 sesquicentennial celebration of the debate.
