The back panel is really clean. A really bright copy and exceedingly scarce in this condition. Great cover art by Youngman Carter. This copy would grace any Simenon collection. Despite these sentiments Woodward was to translate several more Simenon novels. She had previously been secretary to Arthur Koestler which may have given her a taste for pschological travail.
