No inscriptions. Clean interior. Spine tips lightly pushed and the merest hint of offsetting to both sets of end-papers. Overall a near fine copy. The rare dustwrapper is near VG with loss at the spine ends just affecting the lettering with a slither of loss to the bottom edge of the front panel and with a chip to the left-hand corner of the back panel affecting the blurb. The spine of the dustwrapper is mildly faded but with the lettering still clear. Two short stories: 'The Lock at Charenton' and 'Maigret Returns'. A scarce wartime Maigret first edition.
