Publisher's note: The first impression of this edition of Cranford was published in 1940 but most of it was destroyed by enemy fire during the Blitz. This is the second impression of that edition. Accompanied by 23 wood engraving by Joan Hassall. It includes twenty vignettes and three plates. Bound in the original cloth binding in the original unclipped dust wrapper. Externally smart. Slight loss to the head tail and front corners of the dust wrapper. Edge wear to the flyleaf. The boards are bright and clean. Internally firmly bound.
