The referendum question was: Do you agree with the reunification of Austria with the German Reich that was enacted on 13 March 1938 and do you vote for the list of our leader Adolf Hitler The result was reported as 99.73% in favor with a 99.71% turnout. The 73 striking b/w photographic reproductions depict Hitler during several speeches given throughout Germany and Austria and starting in Königsberg on March 26 in which he launched the referendum campaign. The Fuehrer is also seen addressing crowds in Leipzig Berlin Hamburg Köln Frankfurt am Main Stuttgart München Graz Klagenfurt Innsbruck Salzburg and Linz. His last address on the matter was held on April 9 at the Nordwestbahnhof in Vienna. The photographs were taken by Heinrich Hoffmann Hitler's personal photographer and they show the Fuhrer being greeted by and talking to large and enthusiastic crowds.<br /> <br /> Moderate rubbing along edges of wrappers. The illustrator and engraver are not identified but may be Edward P. Cogger who was responsible for the artwork in Struwwelpeter. <br /> <br /> The humorous poems begin with "Jimmy Sliderlegs" the boy who slid down banisters and wore out his pants. Very good in lightly used paper-covered slipcase. With six inscribed cards various dimensions all with illustrations to his US editor Margaret McElderry two unsigned ones as well all with pinholes attesting to McElderry's putting them up. McElderry a legendary editor of children's books who was given her own imprint solicited Hoffmann to illustrate many books and Hoffmann was clearly one of her favorite illustrators.
