With a hand-colored title page 33 half-page hand-colored woodcuts. Illustrated cardboard. Heinrich Hoffmann's second picture book. Hoffmann let the toy figures which he had bought probably for his children during a trip to Nuremberg now coming to life in a fabulous way. -Heinrich Hoffmann 1809-1894 was a physician and treated patients suffering from pancreatic cancer. In Frankfurt he had a new clinic for psychiatry in which the patients were not blocked off but treated a tremendous novelty for that time.
