Pages are unmarked but tanned. Several pages have clear tape near middle of fore-edge to prevent further tearing. Red cloth cover with paper including nicely-illustrated front pasted over -- generally worn with boards showing in places and chips to front illustration. In 343 pages with illustrated frontispiece 9 full-color-full page plates suitable for framing if desired multiple pan-and-ink illustrations throughout text & full-color endpapers. The Grimm volume has 55 stories with 373 pages color frontispiece 9 color plates & illustrations throughout text by German illustrator Fritz Kredel. Both books are octavos with cloth-covered boardsAndersen = green Grimm = burgundy with colorful paper paste-down illustrations to front covers & gilt lettering to spines. Both are in VG condition: exceptionally clean & bright inside with slight rubbing to exteriors & mild spine fading. Colorful topstains show some bleached spots. Bindings tight & square hinges secure pages moderately tanned but completely unmarked save for former owner's name & date inside both front covers.
