The prize was awarded by the curators of the Gymnasium to Gerhardus van der Funk Sevenster 'ob insignes quos fecit in literis progressus' after his examen on July 19 1850 and is signed by Willem Frederick Keuchenius and the Rector P.J. Costerus member of the Dutch parliament in 1849-1850. Who Gerard van der Funk Sevenster was we could not find out. See also J.
