1941110356Sun Dial Press 1941. Hardcover. Very good/Good. This is the second iteration of a Sun Dial edition. The original version was published in 1939 as a "De Luxe Library Edition." It has plain covers and gold embossing on the spine. This 1941 edition mimics the original 1937 Viking edition but with brown covers instead of beige. It also has a mistake on the copyright page stating that it was 1939 by John Steinbeck not 1937. 1939 was the initial Sun Dial edition. <br /> <br /> Brown boards edgeworn. The dust jacket is in fair condition. Soiling and wear to the panels with stains to the rear. Sunning and wear to the spine with paper loss at the edges. The front flap is price-clipped. The book is in good condition. Darkening to the top of the board edges that are also bent. Sunning to the spine with bright silver titling. Small stain to the top edge of the textblock that gently seeps into some of the margins. The textblock is gently toned largely clean unmarked and complete. In a very good- unclipped dust jacket with spine area and the panels tanned and with 1" closed tear to the upper edge of the rear panel with light wear and rubbing to the ends of the spine area. 246 pages of text.
