A handsome copy of this book written by Steinbeck after visiting a number of air bases around the country with photographer John Swope 60 of his pics are included in the book; proceeds from the sale of the book went to provide aid to the families of flyers who lost their lives in the line of duty. This copy is in near fine condition with a sound binding bright blue boards with vibrant lettering and designs and clean pages throughout with only some light creasing and a few tiny tears to the last few pages; the book also shows some light fading to the spine a slight lean to the binding a previous owner's signature to the front paste down underneath the front flap and some mild rubbing to the spine ends; housed in a clean and bright very good dust jacket that shows some minor rubbing and chipping to the spine ends edges and corners and some light foxing to the panels and flaps. Overall a sharp and presentable copy of this unique publication from Steinbeck; not remaindered not price clipped $2.50 present and not ex-library; in a protective Mylar sleeve and will ship in a sturdy box.
